Small team. Meaningful work.
We're a bootstrapped team of four in New York. We move fast, write code we're proud of, and build tools that real engineering teams use every day.
How we work
We're intentional about culture. Small team means high leverage for each person — and high expectations.
New York, hybrid
We're based in Flatiron, NYC. We work in person a few days a week — the rest is your call. We don't do remote for engineering roles yet.
Equity that matters
Bootstrapped means equity isn't diluted away. Early team members own a meaningful slice of something we're building to last — not to flip.
Learning budget
$2,000/year for courses, books, conferences, or anything that makes you better at your craft. No approval required for anything under $200.
Unlimited PTO (real)
We track output, not hours. We do ask you to take at least 15 days per year — burnout is a performance issue we take seriously.
Great setup
MacBook Pro M3, 4K monitor, whatever keyboard and pointing device you use. Standing desk if you want it. Budget for home office if you're partially remote.
Health coverage
Medical, dental, and vision — we cover 100% of premiums for you and 75% for dependents. We use a local broker who's genuinely helpful.
Open positions
Senior Backend Engineer
We're looking for a backend engineer who has built and scaled production analysis pipelines. You'll own significant parts of our analysis infrastructure and help us reduce P95 latency from 160s toward 90s. Experience with Python, distributed job queues, and real-time webhook processing is valuable here.
ApplyML Researcher / Engineer
Our semantic analysis engine is the core of what we do. We're looking for someone with a research background in code representation learning, static analysis, or program synthesis who also writes strong production code. You'll work directly with Mara on the analysis model and help us reduce false-positive rates further.
ApplyNot currently hiring
We're not actively looking for product, design, or sales roles right now. But if you're exceptional and want to work on this problem, send us a note anyway. We've made exceptions before.
